  • She was the daughter of Joseph Akehurst and Frances (?)
  • Anecdote*: Sarah Akehurst is the suspected mother of Richard Senderford Akehurst, bap. 5 Apr 1772 at Arlington, baseborn to mother (?) Akehurst - christian name not given. Richard is a beneficiary of Sarah's brother Joseph Akehurst's will proved 1810 leading one to assume that he was related of the Akehursts of Beddingham. Sarah'a age is right (bap. 28 Jun 1752 at Beddingham) and she married John Henty on 10 Nov 1773 at Beddingham, just over one year after the birth of Richard. There doesn't seem to be another female Akehurst in that family that fits.
