There are two possible baptisms in the Sussex Baptisms Index at Rudgwick, Sussex in 1744 and 1746. The 1746 was later buried and the 1744 baptism had a father Richard Stening, abode Ewhurst, Surrey, which is unlikely.
The only other candidate in the SFHG baptism index is Mary Stenning baptised 1745 at Cowfold.
Mary Stenning married Robert Stoner, son of Thomas Stoner and Mary (?), on 24 June 1770 at Shermanbury, Sussex, England.2

Mary Stephens married Abraham Taylor on 3 May 1716 at East Blatchington, Sussex, England, Mary is "of Seaford" and Abraham is "of Glind."1
The marriage of Abraham and Mary was found in the East Blatchington parish register: "Abraham Taylor of Glynde and Mary Stephens of Seaford were married May 1(?) 1716". The Sussex Marriage Index has the marriage date as 3 May 1716.

An Elias Taylor and wife Susanna Gates were the only other Taylor family in Glynde at this time (although there is a single entry for a baptism for a Susannah, daughter of John Taylor on 5.4.1723). There were no Taylors earlier than 1723 appearing in the register (checked back to 1661).
The parents of Mary Stephens are possibly Joseph Stevens (buried 6.2.1722 at Seaford) and Mary (buried 12.1.1722 at Seaford) although her baptism has not been found (see details on Joseph & Mary Stephens).
