William Akehurst married Elizabeth (?) circa 1750 at Sussex, England.
The marriage of William Akehurst and Elizabeth does not appear to be in the Sussex Marriage Index. The nearest possibility is William Akehurst (of Hurstmonceux) married to Elizabeth Message (of the same parish) at Wartling on 24 Jul 1739. There are gaps in the marriage records for Berwick 1746 to 49 and 1750 to 1754 which could explain this. There is also a gap in the marriage register for neighbouring Alfriston 1746-1751.2
There are no more entries in the Berwick parish registers (baptism or burial) for this family after the burial of daughter Mary in 1753.
There is an illegitimate William Akehurst baptised 20 Nov 1784 daughter of Hannah (Akehurst).
William Akehurst witnessed the will of William Akehurst dated 20 April 1766 at Stunts Green, Herstmonceux, Sussex, England.3
William Akehurst witnessed the will of Joseph Akehurst dated 21 January 1792 at Beddingham, Sussex, England.4
