  In the Name of God Amen I Henry Latter of Pales Gate in the parish of Rotherfield in the County of Sussex yeoman being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same do this tenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First, I give and devise unto my Dear Wife Sarah Latter all those my two copyhold cottages garden and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and which I have surrendered to the use of my will situate lying and being at Pales Gate aforesaid and now in the occupation of me the said Henry Latter and my son Henry Latter To hold the same copyhold cottages gardens and premises unto my said wife Sarah Latter and her assigns during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after her deceaseI give devise and bequeath unto my said son Henry Latter all that one moiety and copyhold cottage garden and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and now in occupation of him my said son Henry Latter situate as aforesaid To have and to hold the said moiety and copyhold cottage garden and premises with the appurtenances unto him my said son Henry Latter his heirs and assigns for ever Also from and immediately after the decease of my said wife Sarah Latter I give devise and bequeath unto my son William Latter all that my other moiety and copyhold cottage gardens and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging now in my own occupation to have and to hold the same moiety and copyhold cottage garden and premises with the appurtenances unto him my said son William Latter his heirs and assigns for ever. Also I give and bequeath all my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind and quality soever the same may be after payment of my debts funeral expences and the expence of proving this my will unto my Dear Wife the said Sarah Latter sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testatments by me at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
