This is the last Will and Testament of me John Packham of Cuckfield in the County of Sussex Plumber and Glazier made the seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five as follows (that is to say) First I will order and direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences be fully paid and satisfied by my Executrix hereinafter named Item I give and devise unto my dear wife Jenny Packham all that my reversion expectant on the estate for life of my mother Sarah Packham widow of and in all those two freehold messuages or tenements gardens backsides and premises with their appurtenances situate lying and being in the Town of Cuckfield aforesaid late in the several occupations of Thomas Fielders and Emma Sprinks but now of my said mother Sarah Packham and the said Emma Sprinks or their assigns To hold unto my said wife Jenny Packham her heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and devise unto my said wife all that my customary or copyhold messuage or tenement Wheelwrights shop garden and several closes or parcels of meadow land containing by estimation eight acres be the same more or less called or known by the name of Hardings or by whatever other name or names the same or any part thereof are is have or hath been called or known situate lying and being in Cuckfield aforesaid (holden of the Manor of Cuckfield Vicarage) and now or late in the several tenures or occupations of myself and brother, Thomas Parker and John Juniper which said copyhold hereditaments and premises I have duly surrendered to the use of this my will previous to the making thereof To hold unto my said wife Jenny Packham and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life. And from and after her decease I give and devise the said customary messuage Wheelwrights shop lands hereditaments and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto my brother Ned Packham his heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath unto my said wife Jenny Packham all and every my personal estate and effects whatsoever or kindsoever and wheresoever which I may die possessed of interested in or intitled unto To hold unto my said wife Jenny Packham her executors administrators and assigns absolutely and for ever subject nevertheless and I do hereby subject and charge my said real estate to and with the payment of all such specialty and simple contract debts as I shall owe at the time of my decease in case my personal estate shall prove insufficient to pay and discharge the same. And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Jenny Packham sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and I declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Packham the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written
