  • Baptism*: Thomas Penfold was baptized on 21 January 1753 at Holy Trinity, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex, EnglandB.1
  • He was the son of Thomas Penfold and Ann White.
  • Anecdote*: Identifying this Thomas PENFOLD with the marriage below is something of a speculation. There appears to be a connection between the PENFOLDs in Cuckfield and Bolney, however, the connection back to Thomas Penfold and Ann White shoudl be treated with caution. The "Paul Norton family tree" in Ancestry (user: Paul Norton) has the death of Thomas Penfold in Charlwood, Surrey on 11 Apr 1830 which may indicate that his family origins were in Surrey.
  • Marriage*: Thomas Penfold married Ann Haslegrove, daughter of Richard Haslegrove and Jane (?), on 15 July 1777 at Bolney, Sussex, EnglandB, both of this parish.2
