In the Name of God Amen I Edward Wenham of the parish of Beddingham in the county of Sussex within the Diocese of Chichester Bing sick in body but of good and perfect remembrance do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Beddingham aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto my son John and Ann my daughter five pounds to be equally divided amongst them at the age of one and twenty years and if it happened that either of them die before they shall accomplish the said age then the survivor to be heir unto the other & have each others portion. Item my will & meaning is that my brother John Wenham shall have the said five pounds [to be put out to the best use for the increase of their sd stocks - crossed out] as longe as my brother shall keep Ann my daughter putting in unto my said Executrix assurance for the said five pounds. The rest of any goods not given nor bequeathed I give unto Susann my loving wife whom I make full & sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In Witness thereof I have set my hand & seal the 26 of July Anno 1625 & in the year of the reign of our sovereign Lord Charles by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland the first.
