  This is the last Will and Testament of me John Bean of the Ancient Town of Rye in the County of Sussex Innholder made the Eighth Day of November in the Eighteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven as follows First I Give and Bequeath unto my Nephew Charles Bexhill Son of my Sister Elizabeth Bexhill the Sum of five pounds of Lawful money of Great Britain to be paid him in twelve Months next after my decease Item I Give and Devise unto my Beloved Wife Sarah Bean All and every my Messuages Buildings Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever which I am Seised of Interested in or Intitled to in the Town of Rye aforesaid or elsewhere to hold to her the said Sarah my wife and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever Also I Give and bequeath unto the said Sarah my Wife all my Ready Monies Securities for Monies Debts due to me Household Goods and Furniture (in and about my House and premises) Plate Linnen China Wearing apparel Stock in Trade Chattels Effects and Estate whatsoever and wheresoever which I shall die possessed of or which shall be any ways due owing or belonging to me at the time of my decease (not herein before by me disposed of) To hold to her the said Sarah my Wife her Executors Administrators and assigns as her and their own proper Goods and Chattels absolutely and for ever She the Said Sarah my Wife paying and discharging thereout all my just Debts funeral Charges the probate of this my Will the Legacy and all incidental expences Item I do hereby Nominate Constitute and appoint the said Sarah my Wife Executrix and my good friend James Small of Rye Executor jointly of this my last Will and Testament And lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said John Bean the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament written and contained on part of one sheet of paper Set my Hand and Seal the Day and Year first above written.
