  A thriving Catholic community appears to have existed at Twyford and further research is required to understand this and how it might relate to the Primmer family.
  In the notes of the parish register transcripts is the following: THE Wells and Smythe families of Brambridge House were staunch Roman Catholics who maintained a Roman Catholic chapel at Brambridge [House], transferred to [a small cottage in] Highbridge (Chapel Cottage) in 1782. The registers of this chapel have been transcribed by Dr R.C. Baigent and printed in Catholic Record Society Publications Vol. XXVII
  Wikipedia states that Brambridge is a village in the parish of Colden Common, south of Twyford civil parish. Brambridge House was once a refuge for Roman Catholic priests and the family assisted in the clandestine burials of Catholics in the local churchyard.
  Colden Common was formed into a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1843 and formerly belonged to the parishes of Twyford and Owslebury.

• Anecdote*: A draft lease document dated 1787 may identify that William Primmer lived in Colden Common, a village to the south of Twyford but within the parish (it became a separate parish in 1843). The description of the document says: Of a piece of garden adjoining Colden Common, Twyford, containing 2 cottages belonging to the parish, another piece of land containing a cottage (belonging to the parish and occupied by William Primmer deceased), bounded on the south and east by Colden Common, and a piece of land to the north thereof on which a cottage is now built belonging to the parish. The lease document is held at the Hampshire Archives and Local Studies (46M72/E124).
