b. circa 1680, d. circa 1740

  • Birth*: John Akehurst was born circa 1680 at England.
  • Anecdote*: I have doubts that John Akehurst who married Susanna Pollington was the son of Samuel Akehurst, which is shown in many other trees. John's marriage says he is "of Dallington" and then they lived at Herstmonceux. It appears that they married at Hellingly because it was Susanna's parish, not because John was born there. Also, they don't name any of their children Samuel. John's burial date of 1733 (mentioned in some trees) has not been able to be verified so far.
  • Marriage*: John Akehurst married Susanna Pollington, daughter of John Pollington and Susanna Piper, on 25 April 1706 at Hellingly, Sussex, EnglandB, John of Dallington, Susanna of Hellingly.1,2
  • Occupation*: John Akehurst was a yeoman in 1740.
  • Death*: John Akehurst died circa 1740 at Herstmonceux, Sussex, EnglandB.
