In the name of God Amen the twentieth daie of September Anno Dom 1635 I William Coe of Rotherfield in the Countie of Sussex yeoman being sicke of bodie but of good and pfect memorie praised be God therefore doe make and ordayne this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge (that is to saie). First I commend my soule into the hands of Almightie God my maker and redeemer hoping assuredlie through the meritts of Christ my Saviour to have free pardon and remisscon of all my sinnes and to be made a ptaker of life everlasting. And my bodie to the earth to be buried at the discrecionof my executrixe hereafter mentioned. Item I will unto Patience my daughter the nowe wife of Thomas Moores tenne pownde. Item I will unto Thomas Moores their sonne other tenn pownds. Item I will unto Margerie Moores, BartholomewMoores, William Moores and Patience Moores the other sonnes and daughters of my daughter Patience and Thomas Moores her husband aforesaid to ev’ie one of them five pownds apeece to be paid unto all and ev’ie of them by my executrix as they shall come to their sev’all ages of one and twentie yeares or els at their daie of marriage wch shall first happen and he or she first deceasing then they that survive shall inioye their pte or ptes that shall soe decease before they shall come to his her or their sev’all ages or daies of marriage as aforesaid equally to be devided among them that are surviving. Itm I will unto Patience Yokust, Elizabeth Yokust and John Yokust the sonne and daughters of John Yokust deceased that is to say to Patience Yokust ten pownds, and to John and Elizabeth Yokust five powndes a peece to be paid at their sev’ yeares or daies of marriage as is before exp’ssed and the surviving equallie to enioy the pte or ptes of them him or her so deceasing as is before mentioned. Item I will unto Mary Ellis the daughter of John Ellis twentie shillings when she shall come to her age of one and twentie yeares. Item I will unto Richard Coe, William Coe, Anne Coe … their younger sister all the sonnes and daughters of my sonne Richard Coe five pownds a peece to be paid by my executrixe when they shall come to their sev’all ages or daies of marriage as is before mentioned, and the surviving of them to enioye the others ptes so deceasing equally to be devided as aforesaid. Item I will unto the two sonnes of my sonne John Coe five pownds a peece to be paid in manner and forme aforesaid and the survivor to enioye the pte of the deceased as aforesaid. Item I will unto Margerie my daughter the now wife of Philophine [Theophilus] Syclemar [Sicklemoor] twentie shillings. Item I will unto Marie my daughter the now wife of John Ellis other twentie shillings to be paid unto them by my executrixe wthin one yeare next after my decease. And for the better establishing confirming and sure making of such lands and tenem’ts as it hath pleased God to endue me wthall. Item I will and give unto my sonne William Coe and to his heires for ev’ after my decease all those my lands and tenements lying and being in Cranbrook at Courtstile in the County of Kent now in the occupation of Lawrance Jud or his assignes my sonne William Coe paying unto Patience my wife his mother whome I make and ordayne my sole executrix of this my last will and testam’t wthin one whole yeare next after my decease the somme three score pownds. Item I will unto my sonne John Coe and his heires for ever after my decease all such lands and annuities as I have lying in the pish of Warhorne and Cranbrooke in Kent aforesaid my sonne John Coe paying unto Patience his mother my wife my said executrix fourty pownds wthin one whole yeare next after my decease. Item I will unto my sonne Richard Coe five shillings to be paid to him by my said executrixe wthin one whole yeare next after my decease in consideracon I have given him his portion already.
