John and Silvester Burgess probably had more children but it is difficult to identify them from the baptism register as only the father's name is given and there is a marriage of another John Burgess and Joan Rigford at Rotherfield on 30 Sep 1578.

There is also the baptism at Buxted of John Burgess on 13 Aug 1587 son of John Burgess of Crowborow which is the major town adjacent to Jarvis Brook.3
