- Anecdote*: Aaron Burford died on or after 28 June 1881 at Brighton. This information was on the probate granted to his wife Elizabeth in 1904. It is not known why she left it so long before applying for probate. Maybe she thought she didn't need to do it and then something came up, or maybe she couldn't prove he was dead. Given the wording that he died "on or after 28 June 1881" it may be that he left her and was never seen again? Perhaps he went to the Boer War and never returned? Anything is possible. Maybe something will come up with more research.
