The Sussex Marriage Index has the marriage of Richard TOOMAS to an unkown spouse on 26 Nov 1666 at Lewes St Thomas Cliffe. This is likely the marriage of our Richard Thomas as the baptisms to Richard and Susanna start the year after this, in 1667.1
Richard Thomas was a butcher in Lewes in 1670.2,3
Richard Thomas was included in a list of people connected with the Baptist movement in Lewes. They usually met in a house about a mile from Lewes and on Sunday 29th May 1670 they were informed upon, convicted and Richard was fined 5 shillings. Richard had his weights confiscated in lieu by an unruly group who wandered through the town exacting the fines in any way they could from those who had attended the service.4
Richard Thomas died in 1691. Butcher of Place: died Sussex. Source is PCC Wills held at the National Archives. Possibility only - needs further work.5
