  My will is this
  First of all I commend my soule to god that gave it, And comitt my body to the earth for a while to rest until the generall resurrection, decently to be buried. Item I give to my beloved wife 12 bushells of wheate and 12 bushells of barly to be dd [delivered?] before Chtmas next. And one of my best hoggs and one of my best piggs, and pease to fatt the former hoggs. And halfe my butter and cheese. Item to the poore of this parish of Rodmell 12s to be payed at my burial. Item I desire my father Stea: Beane of Seaford to be my sole executor to this my last will & testament, in witness whereof I have sett to my hand & seale this eleventh of Oct: 1639

  This is the last Will and Testament of me William Bean of the parish of Frant in the County of Sussex Yeoman I desire that I may be decently but not expensively buried under the [nr / or] Direction of my Executors hereinafter named And that within Three Calendar months after my decease my said Executors do sell the Lease of my Farm my farming Stock and other property of what kind soever and out of the Money pay all my just Debts and having so done that they immediately pay the whole of the Money remaining in their hands to the Revd John Griffiths D.D. Vicar of St Margaret next Rochester And my will is that the said John Griffiths shall pay out of that Money eight shillings weekly and every week during her natural life to my wife Elizabeth Bean if she shall survive me and at her death to defray the Expence of her Funeral if the said Funeral do not exceed the Sum of Four pounds and that he then pay the Remainder of the Money in his hands to my Nephew Allen Anscomb Miller of Hampton Common in Middlesex And I hereby appoint George Trice Cobler at the Sussex Tavern Tunbridge Wells and Thomas Huggett Farmer of Frant aforesaid Executors to this my will In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of november in the year One thousand eight hundred and twenty nine William Bean (LS) Signed sealed published and declared to be his last Will and Testament by the said William Bean in the presence of George Russell and Elizabeth Williams who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other subscribed the same as witnesses George Russell Elizabeth Williams Servants to the Revd Dr Griffiths
  
  The Will of William Bean late of Frant within the Archdeaconry of Lewes Yeoman deceased was proved the thirteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty Before the Reverend John James Saint Clerk Surrogate and so forth Upon the Oath of Thomas Huggett one of the Executors in the said Will named To whom was committed the Administration of the Goods &c He being first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and so forth (Power being reserved for granting the like Commission to George Trice the other Executor in the said Will named when &c / Sworn also that the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value unto One hundred pounds.
