The Rotherfield manorial court held on 13 Apr 1640 records the death of William and the fact that Elizabeth is to hold his property at Town rowe for her life and then Agnes. Elizabeth paid 55/s for a cow seized by the lord for heriot.7
The Rotherfield manorial court held on 5 Oct 1640 confirms that Agnes Latter is William's heir and that Elizabeth holds the property for her life or surrender or forfeiture of the property. It also confirms Elizabeth as the guardian for Agnes during her minority.8
The Rotherfield manorial court held on 9 Jul 1646 confirms the death of William, his wife Elizabeth and daughter Agnes. His only brother John Latter is left to inherit the property which would otherwise have succeeded to Agnes:
They present that Agnes Latter only daughter of William Latter deceased who held to her and her heirs the succession (...... after the death or forfeiture [of the property] of Elizabeth formerly wife of said William & mother of the said Agnes) of & in a messuage, house, garden & 2 parcels containing by estn 4 acres with appurtenances situate at Towne rowe[?] in Rotherfield since last court died so seised and that John Latter is uncle & heir of the said Agnes viz. only brother of the said William her father comes the said John & prays etc the succession etc. To whom the lady grants etc And he makes releif 3/-etc.9

In the Name of God Amen the fifteenth day of March in the fifteenth year of the reign of our sovereign lord Charles by the grace of god kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland Defender of the faith I William Latter of Rotherfield in the County of Sussex butcher being sick of bodie but of perfect remembrance thanks be given to almighty god doe make and ordayne this my last will & testament in manner & forme following Imprimis I yeald my soul to almighty god by creator in the full assurance of hope & a resurrection unto eternal life through the merits of Jesus Christ my saviour & redeemer Item my body I will to the earth from whence it came Item I give and devise unto my daughter Agnes the full sum of fifty pounds of lawfull monie of England to be paid my said daughter Agnes when she shall attain to her full age of one & twenty years or daie of marriage which shall first happen by my Executor Item I give and devise to my daughter Agnes one joined chest in the chamber wherein I nowe lie & one cubbord standing in the haule Item my will and mind is that if Elizabeth my nowe wife shall be at child of a daughter by me the said William then my will and mind is that my two daughters shall equally devide the said fifty pounds before bequeathed to my daughter Agnes Item all the residue of my goods cattells & chattels & monies whatsoever my debts first paid & funeral expence discharged & towards the educacon & bringing up of my child or children if it soe happen I give & devise unto my loving wife Elizabeth Item my will & mind is that if my daughter Agnes & my other daughter if it shall happen my wife to be at child shall happen to die before their said full ages of one & twenty years or daie of marriage then my will & mind is that the said fifty pounds shall descend to my right heirs Item I make & ordayne my loving wife Elizabeth to be Executor of this my last will and testament Item I make & ordayne my brothers in lawe John Coe & Isaac Alchorne overseers of this my last will & testament to see the same performed according to this my intent & meaning, this is the last will & testament of me the said William Latter In witness whereof I the said William Latter have hereunto sett my hand and seal dated the daie and yeere first above written.

William Latter was buried on 21 March 1640 at Rotherfield, Sussex, England.6
The Rotherfield manorial court held on 13 Apr 1640 records the death of William and the fact that Elizabeth is to hold his property at Town rowe for her life and then Agnes. Elizabeth paid 55/s for a cow seized by the lord for heriot.7
The Rotherfield manorial court held on 5 Oct 1640 confirms that Agnes Latter is William's heir and that Elizabeth holds the property for her life or surrender or forfeiture of the property. It also confirms Elizabeth as the guardian for Agnes during her minority.8
The Rotherfield manorial court held on 9 Jul 1646 confirms the death of William, his wife Elizabeth and daughter Agnes. His only brother John Latter is left to inherit the property which would otherwise have succeeded to Agnes:
They present that Agnes Latter only daughter of William Latter deceased who held to her and her heirs the succession (...... after the death or forfeiture [of the property] of Elizabeth formerly wife of said William & mother of the said Agnes) of & in a messuage, house, garden & 2 parcels containing by estn 4 acres with appurtenances situate at Towne rowe[?] in Rotherfield since last court died so seised and that John Latter is uncle & heir of the said Agnes viz. only brother of the said William her father comes the said John & prays etc the succession etc. To whom the lady grants etc And he makes releif 3/-etc.9
